Advancement and Marketing The division of advancement and marketing supports and promotes university endeavors in the areas of alumni engagement, estate planning, and charitable giving as well as marketing and public relations. Athletics enhances the student experience at Samford. The university fields 17 varsity sports—eight men’s and nine women’s teams—that participate at the NCAA Division I level in the Southern Conference.& Enrollment Management The division of enrollment management supports the recruitment, admission and retention of all Samford students through a collaborative effort to meet enrollment needs. Finance and Business Affairs The division of finance and business affairs oversees the accounting, financial services, dining, human resources, One Stop student financial services, the post office, printing services, purchasing and technology services. General Counsel and Government Affairs General Counsel advises university employees and trustees on legal issues that impact the university, provides legal services, undertakes legal initiatives, supervises retained outside legal counsel and coordinates legal services for the university. Government Affairs serves as the chief liaison between the university and federal, state and local officials to advance the university's interests and mission. Office of the President As Samford’s 19th president, Beck A. Taylor is leading the university to remain vigilant in upholding the university’s timeless values while preparing students to engage with an ever-changing world and ensuring that all of Samford’s citizens are treated with love, dignity, and respect. The Strategy department oversees the creation of university strategy, serves as a resource to academic and administrative units, defines and develops appropriate metrics, feedback and reporting mechanisms, oversees strategic implementation and reviews, anticipates and reports on external trends effecting higher education. Student Affairs The division of student affairs seeks to integrate living, learning and faith to prepare students for a life of Christian service, leadership and thoughtful engagement throughout the world. The trustees include devoted men and women who provide support, counsel and direction for Samford University.
