External programs for control management External programs for control management Alistair Logie posted a topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024) Hi. I'm not sure if this would be best asked in the Hardware forums so feel free to move it if necessary. The built-in control settings for MSFS 2024 are driving me nuts. It just seems too difficult to manage profiles for all the different planes. There are a number of external apps that can handle the controller management, including SPAD.NeXt, Axis and Ohs, Hangar Control, and FSUIPC7. I'm looking for one that has a good range of pre-built profiles (either built in, or freely downloadable) for both the built-in planes in MSFS2024 Premium Deluxe as well as add-ons from vendors like PMDG, Fenix, Aerosoft, Just Flight, iniBuilds etc. because I'd rather not reinvent wheels. OTOH, I'm not opposed to digging into something if that's necessary. I did a significant amount of tweaking using FSUIPC in P3d for example. Do you have any recommendations, particularly for products that will handle the Bravo throttle quadrant well, including its autopilot controls and LED annunciators? Any input would be appreciated! 14 minutes ago 14 min 2 replies 2024

I'm keeping my old car! I'm keeping my old car! Republic DC9 replied to TuFun 's topic in Hangar Chat Interesting read. We have two Hondas, a 24 and 25 Civic and Accord Hybrid - love them both, though the Civic is MUCH larger than the old Civics we had. My Accord (“Creampuff”) gets excellent mileage, much better than the non-hybrid (turbo) Civic - but both very nice. Drove a Camry hybrid for a week as a rental and liked that too and it also sipped fuel. 1 hour ago 1 hr 15 replies

PTT Setup for Altitude command in MSFS 2024 PTT Setup for Altitude command in MSFS 2024 flyblueskies posted a topic in AxisAndOhs Support In looking at the manual, it looks like I have to have a PTT button for input variables, such 22000 (used to set altitude). So, I'd have to press the PTT button while I say Set altitude to 22000, then release the PTT button to capture the numerical input (22000). I'm not sure I want to do that...as I use PTT for FSHUD ATC...also, Voice Attack did not require the PTT for numerical input...is there another way? 2 hours ago 2 hr

I'm keeping my old car! I'm keeping my old car! Fielder replied to TuFun 's topic in Hangar Chat My browser search engine is Google. I typed this in just now in its searchbar: "Consumer Reports automobiles with reliable maintenance" The long response took about 3 seconds to reply, it started out this way: quote: "According to Consumer Reports, Toyota, Subaru, and Lexus lead the industry in both brand reliability rankings and low long-term maintenance costs. Based on their latest annual auto surveys covering approximately 380,000 vehicles, Asian automakers consistently require the fewest repairs and offer the most trouble-free ownership experiences. Top Most Reliable Brand Rankings Consumer Reports ranks the following brands at the very top for overall vehicle dependability, backed by minimal member-reported issues across 20 potential trouble areas: Toyota: Reclaimed the absolute #1 spot for new vehicle reliability. Subaru: Tied closely at the top, lauded for simple mechanical builds like its naturally aspirated 2.0L engine. Lexus: Dominates the luxury sector by resolving platform quirks prior to manufacturing. Honda: Remains a top-five staple with highly reliable engine and transmission metrics. BMW: Rounds out the top five, maintaining an impressively strong record for modern European luxury builds. unqoute I was only interested in pickup trucks which I would then add an inexpensive camper shell onto to create a cheap SUV. Toyota was way out in front when it came to pickups, not even close (this was in 1997). Things have changed since then. When I ask google AI now about pickups it says this quote The Most Reliable Trucks (By Category) Honda Ridgeline: The absolute highest-scoring midsize option with a 79/100 rating. Its car-based unibody structure and legendary 3.5L V6 engine deliver an SUV-like ride with minimal mechanical faults. Ford Maverick (Gas & Hybrid): Dominates the compact segment. The fuel-efficient Maverick Hybrid achieves an exceptional 37 mpg overall and earns highly praised marks for modern powertrain durability. Toyota Tacoma: Reclaimed its spot near the top of the traditional body-on-frame midsize segment after early platform updates resolved minor quirks. Ford F-150 (Non-Hybrid): Crowned as a top pick for full-size reliability, specifically when configured with the naturally aspirated 5.0L Coyote V8 or the 2.7L EcoBoost V6. Nissan Frontier: Offers highly consistent, above-average reliability with its simple, time-tested V6 design that outlasts more complicated powertrains. unquote 2 hours ago 2 hr 15 replies

I'm keeping my old car! I'm keeping my old car! Fielder replied to TuFun 's topic in Hangar Chat My source was Google search AI, I asked it for the Consumer Reports list of cars with fewest repairs as reported by readers of that magazine. To get the official list, Consumer Reports magazine does a very large annual readers survey article about reliable cars in one month's issue of every year. It takes an online or mailbox subscription to CR to see the full genuine article. 2 hours ago 2 hr 15 replies

AP Bug in SU6: Cessna 172 "start flight without workaround" AP Bug in SU6: Cessna 172 "start flight without workaround" JYW replied to John Fields 's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024) No - I was merely trying to help him, as I've had similar issues where certain avionics don't work because some hidden 'master switch' behind the scenes is set to off. For example, In the Aeroplane Heaven Swift, it was initially needed to hit ctrl+e after starting everything up - because MSFS 'wanted' the Avionics Master Switch to be set to 'on' (even though the plane didn't have one) 2 hours ago 2 hr 19 replies MSFS 2024

MSFS 2024: Increasing Throttle after mid-point reduces power MSFS 2024: Increasing Throttle after mid-point reduces power JYW replied to Lurch16 's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024) Ah lord, I had that years ago in MSFS2020! So annoying! It's a "stuck" assignment, associated with the mouse. I'll try and think what I did to resolve it. As a first port of call, it could be a good idea to duplicate your Mouse profile, under SETTINGS > CONTROLS. Try using the suplicated Mouse profile, to see if that fixes it. It was 100% related to the Mouse controls profile. Just constantly rotates! Good luck. 2 hours ago 2 hr 11 replies
