On 12 May, we told you what selling tier you would be in, based on your recent sales activity. Free selling is designed for casual sellers with simple selling needs. From 1 June, some advanced selling features will become exclusive to those with an eBay Pro subscription. Sellers in Pro Starter with less than $25,000 in total sales in the last 12 months have until 31 May to cancel their Pro Starter subscription if they want to move to free selling with immediate effect. After 1 June, these sellers can still cancel their subscriptions anytime but the cancellation will take effect on the 1st day of the following month (for example, 1 July). Discussion Declining Sales Hi everyone, Over the last weeks since all of the changes and continuous issues on eBay. Has anyone's sales dropped dramatically?. I have been selling on eBay now for 16 years and my sales have dropped 80% and seems to be getting worse. I promote all of my listings, coupons, discounts etc just no sales. Happy Wordling! Discussion Sellers to the US are now charged Duty, Customs fee etc. at time of lodgement. How are you all dealing with the recent Australia Post changes to US addresses? We as the seller are currently being charged Import Duty etc. at the Post Office . eBay's response to my questions is that the BUYER is charged at the receiving end. This is NOT be the case at all. Today I was charged $17.85 import duty & taxes $2.53 Admin & Handling Fee, & $1.07 Customs fee on an item which sold for $175. Note that this was paid by me as the seller on lodgement at the Post Office. We're also reminding sellers about the safety of water/gel bead products , and we've updated our policy to provide clarity on how these may be listed on eBay. What you need to know From 14 September 2026, the following types of products will no longer be allowed to be sold in or shipped to Australia: Coloured sand Play sand, sandbox sand, kinetic sand, craft sand Sand-filled toys, stress balls and sensory products Weighted sand-filled products such as sealed doorstops Water beads aren't allowed in the Toys & Hobbies category and can't be advertised for children. They are only allowed if they are listed in the Home & Garden category as decorations for vases and centrepieces. These listings must also include the following disclaimer: Water beads should be kept away from children under 5 years of age, and older children or vulnerable adults should use them under close adult supervision only. Water beads expand and can block the gastrointestinal passage when swallowed, which can cause choking. Next steps If you sell toys containing sand or other or sand-filled products , you will unfortunately no longer be able to list them. We recommend you end your listings prior to the updated policy taking effect. Listings that do not comply with our policies could be subject to removal. If you sell water or gel beads , please take some time to ensure your listings are following the guidelines above.
