The Insights report offers a simplified overview of key metrics and traffic changes across your site, helping you monitor important trends. The Insights report is being gradually introduced and may not be available to everyone. Open the Insights report Insights about your site’s performance in Google Search results Use Insights to understand your data and make informed decisions about your content. You can adjust the time range of the data displayed in the report using the date range selector at the top. The report is based on performance metrics from Google’s Web Search results, and organized into the following cards: Traffic from users who specifically searched for your brand (indicating strong brand recognition), versus traffic from general searches. The purpose of this insight is to help you better understand your Search performance. These classifications are for information only and don't affect your site's ranking in Search. Query classification is powered by AI and may mislabel branded and non-branded queries. Note: This filter isn’t available for sub-properties (for example, https://example.com/blog/) or for sites with a low number of impressions. This new feature might not appear for all eligible sites until it’s fully launched. Social channel insights (experimental) Insights on how your social channels (like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok) perform on Google Search. You’ll see a list of channels we identified as related to your site. Adding channel insights will allow you to see metrics like Clicks and impressions, Your content, Queries, etc. (as listed in the table above) for each channel. To remove insights, open the options menu, and select Remove channel insights . Understanding trending up and trending down For insights about Your content and Queries leading to your site , “trending up” indicates items that have seen an increase in clicks compared to the previous period, while "trending down" indicates a decrease. The order of trending items is based on an increase or decrease in the number of clicks, not the percentage change. Understanding query groups For sites with a significant amount of query data, the Insights report groups similar queries together to help you analyze search trends more easily. Instead of seeing a long list of individual queries, you’ll see groups of similar queries. If your site has a relatively low number of queries, you will continue to see a simple list of queries.

Here’s how to understand the data in a group: Group name: A group is named after the best-performing query within that group. Total clicks: The number of clicks shown for a group represents the total clicks of all queries within that group, not just the single best-performing query. Queries in a group: While a group can contain many queries, the report shows a few examples from that group. These examples are the queries with the most clicks, sorted in descending order. If a group contains only a single query, this list of examples will be empty. To view the full list of queries in a group, click on it to be redirected to the Performance report. Further exploring the data Throughout Insights, you'll see lists of key items like your top-performing content, search queries driving traffic, top countries visitors are coming from, and additional traffic sources. To see more examples for your top-performing content and queries, click View more . This will expand the list to show up to 20 items. To explore performance data in more detail, you can click any list item (like a top-performing page or country) to go directly to the Performance report , filtered to that specific item and the same time range of the Insights report. For even more pages or queries beyond the expanded list, click the link at the bottom of the Your content or Queries leading to your site sections. From the Performance report, you can further analyze trends, compare metrics over different time periods, adjust your filters, and gain a deeper understanding of your site’s performance metrics.
