So, if you've added a job to a Word document opened from an email, saved it little by little, but without first doing "save as" and you can't find your docs anymore. Go to the Internet page, Click on "tools" Click on Internet options In the "general" tab, there's a box for "temporary files". Go to: "settings" And click "show files" You will see among all the cookies a Word or Excel file, or anything you have saved, it won't have the same name, but a combination of numbers and letters. Click "copy" and paste it on your desktop or anywhere, it will take back the correct name it had from the attachment of the message. Then, there you go, you have found this file, all that's left is to open it! I worked on my thesis for an entire day on a version that I had sent myself as an attachment. And of course, instead of "save as," I just hit "save" all day. As a result, this morning, nothing, no file since I hadn't saved it on my computer. I searched all the forums, did everything possible for 3 hours: recent files, internet temporary files, Word backup folder, nothing, I couldn't find anything. Hello, another tip that worked for me on Win7 with Office 2010: go to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel then into the Word or Excel folders depending on your issue.
