To use the Image Capture software included with Macintosh, the ICA (Image Capture Application) Scanner Driver is required. This driver can be downloaded from https://support.brother.com for supported models. The ICA Scanner Driver may be included with the standard Brother Scanner Driver or CUPS Printer Driver for some models instead of as a separate download. 1. Browse to: Go → Application → Image Capture . 2. Select the machine from the list on the left side of the screen. You may have to click on the category, Devices or Shared , to see a list of available machines. - If the Brother machine is connected with a USB cable, you'll see the machine in the Devices area. - If the Brother machine is connected via Network, you'll see it in the Shared area. 3. Load your document onto the machine. The available methods for loading the document may vary depending on your machine's specifications and supported operating systems. - Loading in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) - Check the Use Document Feeder check box and then select the size of your document from the scan size pop-up menu.

- Loading on the scanner glass (flatbed) - Uncheck the Use Document Feeder check box. 4. To change additional scanning settings, click Show Details and make the desired changes. The available options will vary based on your operating system version, machine specifications, and selected options. You can crop the image manually by dragging the mouse pointer over the portion you want to scan when scanning from the scanner glass. If your machine supports automatic 2-sided scanning, place a check next to Duplex to choose this option. 5. Select the destination folder or destination application from the Scan To pop-up menu. 6.
