Robert Irwin on Lady Elliot Island

"My favourite holidays are always the ones I take right here at home. The most recent one that really stands out to me, was a diving trip to Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef. That place is just stunning. It has such a rich array of life. And there's one memory that will stay with me forever. I was out snorkelling in the open water, searching for turtles and manta rays. All of a sudden, I saw a massive shape emerge from the depth. I felt myself stop breathing, as an enormous humpback whale came right up next to me. Then, to my amazement, a beautiful little baby approached to have a closer look. It was a moment in time when I was truly breathless. I'm sitting there suspended in water, thinking, ‘wow’. I put my camera down, closed my eyes, took a breath and just enjoyed the moment. I remember thinking, “I just want to remember this forever” and I always will."
Lady Elliot Island is an easy-to-reach paradise on the Great Barrier Reef, famous for its manta ray population.

Nigella Lawson on Uluru
"Everyone had told me that visiting Ulu r u would be an utterly transporting experience, but nothing can prepare you for its dominating and awe-inspiring presence, the hugeness and unpolluted clarity of that vaulting sky, the extraordinary quality of light, and the unfathomable ancientness of the land. That I found out on the first day of my visit to Ulu r u and, over the days and starlit nights of my stay there, my sense of wonder only grew - helped, too, by local guides who illuminated this monumental experience with their own stories of the region's Indigenous culture - and has stayed with me ever since. And I'll treasure these sacred, soul-expanding memories of Ulu r u forever."
The ancient rock formations of Uluru and Kata Tjuta rise from the land to make an incredible sight. Immerse yourself in the Aboriginal stories of this special place, 500 million years in the making.

Thomas Weatherall on Tasmania
"The Australian holiday I will remember forever has to be my first trip to Tasmania. It was a couple years ago now, but it was also my first ever solo, independent trip, not with my friends or my family. I rented a car and just explored the whole island the best that I could in two weeks, driving from the south and went right up to the top end. Each few kilometres, it felt like you were entering another country, another world. It was forests, into beautiful lakes, into dry lands. Since then, I've been trying to come back at least once or twice a year. I can't quite shake Tasmania."
