Windows 10 Pro Retail USB installs 10 Home
发布时间:2026-08-24 | 浏览:1
Trying to revive a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro that had a bad SDD. it originally had 8.1.
Purchased 2 windows 10 pro retail version with product key.
with new drive in. USB flash drive didn't fit on to the USB 3 port on the laptop.
So, used a hub. Booted from USB and stated installing the windows.
No question about which version I wanted. It just went through with rest.
System under control panel shows Windows 10 Home. Since the Product key that I scratched is for Pro version. Can't activate.
I need to install Windows 10 Pro.
How should I do it?
Attached couple of pictures. USB drive is too tight to insert in to Yoga 2 Pro and pushed the label. So, I had to use Hub.

Anonymous 2024-02-23T03:13:34+00:00 On your Windows 10 Home device, kindly try to press Windows Key + R and type slui 3 then hit enter. Now, please try type in your Windows 10 Pro key on that page. It should upgrade to Pro. If not, please try the steps below: Another way is, click Start menu and type Activation then hit enter. Under Upgrade your edition of Windows, please select Change Product key and please enter your Windows 10 Pro key there. For your reference: (Look for the section says "If you have a Windows 10 Pro product key") https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/upg... Hi, Christine, Thank you for the reply. I've tried both ways that you mentioned above. "slui 3" & Start-activation both come up with same result with the Windows 10 Pro product key, it ends up with message "The product key you entered didn't work. Check the product key and try again or enter a different one. (0xc004f050)" Windows 10 Home installed has not been activated since I only have product key for Win 10 Pro. 0 comments No comments
