From searching this forum I found a thread that said there were three different examples of the Sporting Life trade card. I'd like to see these as well as any other trade cards for baseball related periodicals. Also, when did Sporting Life start publishing? Thanks in advance, Alan Elefson [email protected] Attached Images July 3, 2009 (4).jpg (24.9 KB, 205 views) aelefson View Public Profile Send a private message to aelefson Find all posts by aelefson # 2 07-08-2009, 11:56 AM drc Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Posts: 2,621 The Sporting Life trade cards often go under the rader, like other period trade cards, but they are tough. You don't see them in auction often. Below is an old image I have that includes a few. I really appreciate the scan. I like the graphics on the other Sporting Life trade cards as well. I can also see that my example is missing the bottom advertisement. I also agree that these tend to fall below the radar. I find it odd that these are not more heavily colllected (especially considering their relatively cheap prices!). There is also another similar set H804-8B (8 in the set) (the 3rd card in top row in the group scan is part of this set). Another Sporting Life set is H804-29 and these are very tough to find. They are not as attractive and show brownies playing ball with Sporting Life advertising on front and back (4 known in the H804-29 set) info from Frank Keetz book Last edited by fkw; 07-11-2009 at 07:07 PM . fkw View Public Profile Send a private message to fkw Find all posts by fkw « Previous Thread | Next Thread » Display Modes Linear Mode Switch to Hybrid Mode Switch to Threaded Mode Posting Rules You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts BB code is On Smilies are On [IMG] code is On HTML code is On Forum Rules Similar Threads Thread Thread Starter Forum Replies Last Post Ooops..The .Sporting Life isn't The Sporting News blaze422 Net54baseball Sports (Primarily) Vintage Memorabilia Forum incl.
